Send Me a Postcard

Name: Send Me a Postcard
Duration: 3 min 40 s
Description: Everybody is streaming something, everybody is somewhere new. I don't need you here tonight. I just want to know you stopped somewhere beautiful and thought of me long enough to write it by hand: ink, paper, a picture of a lake, no filter, no delete. In a world that moves too fast, the slow thing is how you know it's true.

The story

Everybody is streaming something, everybody is somewhere new. I don't need you here tonight. I just want to know you stopped somewhere beautiful and thought of me long enough to write it by hand: ink, paper, a picture of a lake, no filter, no delete. In a world that moves too fast, the slow thing is how you know it's true.

Lyrics

Mmm mmm mmm
Mmm mmm mmm
Sun goes down on your side of the world
I'm-watching-mine-do-the-same
Something 'bout the golden hour
Makes me whisper your name
You're out there chasing whatever-you-chase
I'm here with wine and the view
Funny how the sky connects us
When nothing else gets through
Ooh
Don't-call don't-text
Give me something I can't forget
Send me a postcard
Let it take its ti-i-ime
Something slow across the ocean
Something only mi-i-ine
Send me a postcard
With your handwri-ting
In a world that moves too fast now
Be my slow slow thing
La la la la la
La la la la la
Be my slow-slow-thing
Hotel-bar or airport-lounge
You blend into the noise
But when you stop to write-my-name
That's when I hear your voice
Everybody's-streaming-something
Everybody's-somewhere-new
But the ones who take the time to send it
Those are the ones that's true
Ooh
No-filter no-delete
Just ink and paper something sweet
Send me a postcard
Let it take its ti-i-ime
Something slow across the ocean
Something only mi-i-ine
Send me a postcard
With your handwri-ting
In a world that moves too fast now
Be my slow slow thing
La la la la la
La la la la la
Be my slow-slow-thing
I-don't-need-you-here tonight
I just need to know you stopped
Somewhere beautiful
And thought of us
Mmm that's enough
That's enough
That's e-nough
Send me a postcard
Doesn't matter where-you-are
From the mountains to the islands
From a taxi from a bar
Send me a postcard
Something real that I can touch
In a world of disappearing
You're the one I trust
La la la la la
La la la la la
You're-the-one-I-trust
Mmm mmm mmm
Send me something slow
Mmm mmm mmm
Let me let you go
La la la la la
La la la la la
